Custom checkbox on edit_entry not being passed through to edit_entry_handler.php

Hi,

I need a checkbox on the form where people say they've read the conditions before making a booking. I've implemented this in edit_entry.php as follows:

 <div>
        <label>I have read and agree to be bound by the <u><a href="#conditions-of-booking">conditions of booking this facility</a></u>.</label>
        <div class="group">
                <label><input class="checkbox" name="conditions" type="checkbox"></label>
        </div>
      </div>

and in the validate function:

if (form.conditions.checked == false) {
alert ("You must accept the conditions of booking this facility before continuing.");
return false;
}

That works fine when Javascript is enabled. But the variables seem not to be being passed through to edit_entry_handler.php because when I have javascript turned off the form is submitted if the box is not ticked. I've poked around a bit but can't see how form variables are being appended to the URL for use by edit_entry_handler.php. As you can see I tried to save the value of

Could someone please walk me through the last bit of this process? As an aside, is there any reason not to add this as an option for admins to turn on?

Thanks.

Regards,
Greg

Re: Custom checkbox on edit_entry not being passed through to edit_entry_handler.php

You need to add a value attribute to your checkbox input, for example value="yes".   (Note also that the variable won’t be passed through if the checkbox is not ticked.)   The variables aren’t passed through appended to the URL because the form method is POST (or at least it is in recent versions of MRBS).

As for your last point, it’s already there.    In the latest release of MRBS you can add a custom field as a checkbox and make it mandatory in the config.

changing default view permissions

Sorry if you receive this twice.

One of our security people feel that it is an increased risk to have the default view of MRBS show the calendar
(in our case we use it for internal vehicle reservations and an indication that someone has reserved a
vehicle would indicate that he is not in his office...). Is there an easy way to change things so that to view
the calendar, one must be logged in?

Thanks in advance.

Peter

Reposition Header Info

Hola!

I'm trying to edit the header so that the logo and company name are side-by-side instead of the logo on top and name on bottom.

I should preface this with saying that I've never worked with PHP in my life, I only have a small dose of HTML knowledge. So through some playing around, I was able to comment out $vocab["mrbs"] in the lang.en file and add in $mrbs_company. I was also able to get them side-by-side, but my question is about getting $mrbs_company to be vertically centered along the right side of the logo. Right now, it's on the right side, but at the bottom of the image. How do I get it vertically centered?

This is the code in my header.inc file starting at line 343:

$logo_size = getimagesize($mrbs_company_logo);
echo "<a href=\"$url_base\"><img src=\"$mrbs_company_logo\" " . $logo_size[3] . " alt=\"logo\"></a>\n";
echo "<style='valign: center'>$mrbs_company</style>\n";

Again, this is probably not the right way to do it, but I have no clue what I'm doing! :)

Thanks! (version 1.4.6)

p.s. I also made adjustments so clicking on the logo will bring you to the home page. Just in case that confused anybody.

$morningstarts again

Hi,

	I just confirmed that all the time limits are indeed set in the
database, and that I can return control to config.inc.php by setting
them to NULL in the db (directly using mysql commands).

	I assume this happened during the upgrade from MRBS 1.4.5 to 1.4.6.
Can anyone confirm that?

problem with $morningstarts

Hi,

	I'm probably doing something very stupid, but I'm stumped at the
moment. I have been playing with MRBS 1.4.6 and initially set things up
so that my booking times would start at 8 am, end at 4 pm and be
bookable on the hour with a minimum booking interval of 2 hr. I've been
playing with various other things using

$resolution = (60 * 60);
$default_duration = (2 * 60 * 60);
$morningstarts         = 8;
$morningstarts_minutes = 0;
$eveningends           = 16;
$eveningends_minutes   = 0;

in config.inc.php. All this appears to have worked exactly the way I
expected it to work.

	I decided earlier today to change the first booking time to 6 am, so I
modified config.inc.php. However, my booking times still start at 8 am.
  I have confirmed that the config.inc.php in my mrbs-1.4.6 area really
does contain

$morningstarts         = 6;

as I intended. I have also made some changes in that file that do
affect the scheduler, so I'm certain that my installation is paying
attention to this particular copy of the file. I cannot find any otehr
places where morningstarts gets set to other values (and I did not
modify systemdefaults.inc.php which is still set to 7).

	I went ahead and inserted a statement into day.php that simply prints
the value of $morningstarts onto the page before it writes out the table
with bookable slots. That indicates that $morningstarts is indeed still
set to 8 somehow.

	I also find that I see no effect if I alter any of the other values
such as $eveningends, $resolution or $default_duration. So I am totally
baffled at the moment, and wondering if anyone can help. The only thing
that (sort of) makes sense (but I don't understand) is that somehow, my
initial settings have been incorporated into my mysql database and I am
unable to over-ride them (at least not by making changes in config.inc.php).

	Does anyone have any thoughts on any of this? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, the Javascript form validation doesn't work for a
'checkbox' mandatory field for some reason. The PHP check in
edit_entry_handler.php _does_ work though...
