Log Message:

Modified the function get_default_area() so that it first tries to return the area corresponding to the
$default_room if it is set and exists. Only if that fails will it return the first area by alphabetical
order of areaname. (Also fixed the comments to reflect the fact that it is returning the first area by name,
rather than id).

Re: How to sync booking entries to gmail calendar

Unfortunately not directly, at the moment.   You can however export a CSV file of entries from MRBS (via the Report page) and I believe Google calendar has the ability to import from CSV.   However you’ll probably have to do some fiddling around with columns – I haven’t tried it myself.

Re: How to sync booking entries to gmail calendar

Less so.    Ideally MRBS should be able to import and export entries as .ics files, which could then be imported/exported to/from other calendar applications such as Outlook or Google Calendar.    ( I believe some users have implemented .ics support in previous versions).

If you want to import into Outlook then the only way I can think of that might work is export as described below (not tested) into Google calendar and then export from Google to Outlook (again not tested).
