Please Help

Hey All

Awesome product, easy to use, easy to customize. Well done and thanks

I am running MRBS on SUSE 11
On a windows domain.
I have setup to logon using windows credentials with LDAP.
Works well, when clicking the login button.
Config code below:

$auth["session"] = "php"; // How to get and keep the user ID. One of
           // "http" "php" "cookie" "ip" "host" "nt" "omni"
           // "remote_user"

$auth["type"] = "ext"; // How to validate the user/password. One of "none"
                          // "config" "db" "db_ext" "pop3" "imap" "ldap" "nis"
                          // "nw" "ext".

// 'auth_ldap' configuration settings
// Where is the LDAP server
$ldap_host = "10.10.1.20";
// If you have a non-standard LDAP port, you can define it here
//$ldap_port = 389;
// If you do not want to use LDAP v3, change the following to false
$ldap_v3 = true;
// If you want to use TLS, change the following to true
$ldap_tls = false;
// LDAP base distinguish name
// See AUTHENTICATION for details of how check against multiple base dn's
$ldap_base_dn = "OU=All My Users,DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=com";

Re: Adding fields

We needed to add two new fields (or new columns): phone numbers, and
student numbers (or student id's).

http://www.sfu.ca/biology/facilities/computer/calendar/mrbs_mysql_quick.txt

1) Add columns to tables mrbs_repeat and mrbs_entry (or
mrbscustomsized_entry etc):
alter table mrbs_repeat add column student_id int;
alter table mrbs_entry add column student_id int;

2) Edit edit_users.php, mrbs_sql.inc, edit_entry_handler.php (we also
edited search.php and report.php. I suggest you search for repeat_id
(or private if you are using a more recent version with it such as the
SVN) and use those entries as a guide for creating new entries.

----------------
1: science_unix% mysql -u mysqlusername -p
Enter password:

Your MySQL connection id is 8125526 to server version: 4.0.20-standard-log

Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer.

mysql> use mrbs_database;

mysql> alter table mrbs_repeat add column phone VARCHAR (50);

Question about MRBS authentication

Hi list,

I downloaded/installed MRBS application. It’s working fine, just can’t figure out how to make authentication work.

I will be looking into ldap authentication but for now I just wanted to test out with the $auth[“type”] = “db”;

I have entered a user in database using phpMyAdmin.

Placed the code in systemdefaults.inc.php file but login doesn’t seems to be working except the administrator/secret and bob/alice default users.

Any thoughts?

Thanks much.

Re: Question about MRBS authentication

Hi Campbell,

I don't see that "user list" link anymore, not sure what happened to that.
I did try to add users in there but it said I don't have access to do view that list/page even though I was logged
in as "administrator" user.

Only mistake that I can think of is, instead of loggin in as "administrator" right after I installed the
application, I logged in as bob, not sure if that would have make any diff.

Regards,
Atiq

Leave the user table blank then it will prompt for the admin user creation at the first start of user creation on top right corner user list.

Re: Question about MRBS authentication

Hi Samnang,

I see the "User List" link now but when I tried to add a user, I got this error:

Access Denied
You do not have access rights to modify this item.
Return to previous page

After I received this error, I can't go to the add user page.

Default Room

Hi,

We have a number of departments with their own meeting rooms. Users
prefer to book the meeting room in their own department. Cross
department bookings are occasional. Is it possible to add a user
preference, say my_default_room, such that the preferred room appears
after logging in. We have had a few incidents when users forgot to
select the room and booked in the room that appears by default.

Know a bit of php but don't want to mess with this peace of art!!

Cheers,
Anuj
