Nice attempt, but you've put the error_log()'s in places that don't tell you much about what's going on.

Try the attached auth_ldap.inc, which hopefully provides useful diagnostics...

Re: AD authentication

I don't know if this helps, but when I worked to get our system working
with AD, the bind was where I had troubles. I used a program called
Active Directory LDAP browser to put in different strings until I found
one that made a successful bind, then used that information to put into
the config.php.inc. I banged my head against the desk for many hours on
this one. Good luck!

Well, this tells you that your $ldap_dn_search_dn and
$ldap_dn_search_password pair is not actually valid on the AD server.
Make sure the DN is the full DN of the user that has rights in the AD,
and that the password is correct.

John.

Re: AD authentication

This is what I have for the dn...
The User name is generic and the OU it's in is Users and I know the
password is current....

$ldap_dn_search_dn =
"cn=generic,ou=Users,dc=lakewood,dc=k12,dc=oh,dc=us";
$ldap_dn_search_password = "*******";

I think I have this set correctly...

Thanks
John

Time Zone offset

Hello Everyone,

I've just moved from my own server in Australia to some hosting in the US
and have imported the MRBS sql data, only to find that the bookings are out
by about 10 hours.

I found in the archives that you could change the time offset by putting
this in this at the top of the config.inc.php file

putenv('TZ=posix/Etc/GMT+10');

However, I can't find the file ... Where should this info go?

includes/settings.php
Or
includes/config.php

I'm running MRBS 1.02

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Darrel

config.inc.php should be in your MRBS directory. The first several
lines of mine are as follows:

# $Id: config.inc.php,v 1.39.2.5 2005/08/20 09:46:44 jberanek Exp $

###########################################################################
# MRBS Configuration File
# Configure this file for your site.

Mysql Authentication - multiple administrators

Dear MRBS users,

We are using MRBS now for a year and I must say GREAT!! And a big
thanks to everyone who created it!!

I have a question about authentication. Before we used php en the
config file.. but not very secure.
I'am now installing the new version 1.2.6.1. We wanted to swap the
users to the mysql. So specified in the config : db. Setup table
'users' was very simple. BUT we have multiple administrators. Is it
possible to create several administrator-accounts? Now I can only
create a user-account! I've already tried to add a column level or
rights in the mysql but that doesn't work..

Can anybody help me with this one?

Already a big thx!

Greetings

No matter what authentication method you choose in MRBS, administrators
are configured in config.inc.php, using $auth["admin"][] entries.

John.

Changing edit_entry

Hello there,
I just set up MRBS and it works fine. but i was wondering, if there's
the possibility to change the edit_entry in some ways:

1. Remove the second description field
2. Replace the duration of an entry by end-date and end-time
3. Replace the pseudo-drop-down-field for selecting the rooms by
checkboxes for all the rooms in one area (to check for example 3 rooms
whilst an entry without having to use the CTRL-key)

As I'm not very into php and all that stuff it would be helpful for me
if somebody could show me how to do that

Thx
Henrik

Re: MRBS-general] Changing edit_entry

1. Remove the second description field --> SOLVED, just removed some
lines in the edit_entry and view_entry

I'm still working on the other two chnages:
2. Replace the duration of an entry by end-date and end-time
3. Replace the pseudo-drop-down-field for selecting the rooms by
checkboxes for all the rooms in one area (to check for example 3 rooms
whilst an entry without having to use the CTRL-key)
