user sync palm and duplicated everything in MM

Okay not a "user" but our Director.
Previously when I or other users have done this (maybe the palm unit
went dead or was hard reset and the first sync was not to a cradle
that spoke to MM conduits), the process was not elegant or quick.

Basically, reset palm unit [again].
sync to desktop and Meeting Maker,
then remove manually any duplicates from Meeting Maker
sync again

So naturally I am looking for any better process.
Using undupe doesn't necessarily work because many of the
"duplicated" events may appear identical but cannot be easily
distinguished (like being invited to a meeting, or inviting others).
If the wrong one is deleted from the Palm side, user confusion ensues.....

Help?

Meeting Maker Hotsync conduit error messages

Hello,

Does anyone know if the folks at Meeting Maker are working on
updating the error messages associated with the Mac Hotsync clients?
I have users reporting errors asking them to increase the amount of
available memory to applications when in 2001, Apple did away with
user memory management with the release of OSX.

Thanks.

Re: Meeting Maker Hotsync conduit error messages

I'm having the same problem with one of my users who is using Meeting Maker
7.5 and 10.4. I was hoping 8.5 would fix this when I upgraded our server
later this year. Anybody know of a fix now?

I had hoped that some of this would be addressed in 8.5, but the
errors being reported to me indicate that they haven't (we upgraded
last weekend).

Hi

We had a lot of trouble syncing from our macs (10.3.9 and 10.4.2) to
various palms. we are still on MM 7.5.
instead of using the palm software for sync we are now using "Missing Sync
for Palm OS" (http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_palmos.php) and since
then i havent heard any complaints anymore from our users.
whatever this software does, it does it better than palm or at least the
MM conduits work better with "Missing Sync"
perhaps it will help you as well.

Re: Meeting Maker Hotsync conduit error messages

I tried the Missing Sync also, hoping it would solve the problem for
my one user who is having the problem. Didn't fix it, unfortunately.

Re: Meeting Maker Hotsync conduit error messages

Missing Sync works for me too and what is the error the one user has?

The original point of this thread is valid - MM 8.5 won't run on Mac OS 9 yet
there is an error message stating that a possible solution is to increase RAM
allocated to HotSync Manager - which is not possible in OS X!

Re: Meeting Maker Hotsync conduit error messages

I was seeing the same error that was reported earlier, that the MM
conduit was not syncing while the error message stated that a
possible solution was to allocate more RAM to Hotsync manager.

Scripting Start/Stop

Hi Folks,

I'm seeing some oddity with my (server version 8.5.0) stop/backup/start
script. It appears that S99mmserverX stop' doesn't kill onmuxd
(apparently it cannot find it), because when I try to restart, I get
this message:

However, the server does restart and functions properly (or so it seems).

Any tips? I've included the full script below.
