MMXP-Talk List to be shutdown 12/12/08

Dear MMXP subscribers,

Over the years, this list was a great asset to those of us who ran Meeting Maker.  Over time, the company(s) made advancements in the support offerings.  Thus, we have not needed this list as much.

Emory has changed direction in how we use calendaring, and have migrated away from Meeting Maker.

This is to serve notice that this list is to be shutdown effective 12/12/08.

Thank you.

No solution for the printing problems just yet. Meeting Maker was unable
to recreate the problem on their own, so we recently sent them a copy of
our database to test with. They are now seeing the problem but do not
know the cause or solution just yet.

Hi Ron,

Last week we upgraded from 8.5.3 to 8.7.0 as well. However we are not
experiencing any problem with the 8.7 conduits like you are. All of our
Palm users are syncing from Win XP computers and have had no issue, yet.

I have found two different problems with 8.7 so far which I haven't
submitted to Tech Support yet. The printing problems that we hoped had
been fixed by now continue and now the scroll bar at the bottom of the
weekly calendar view doubles your click, so you end up jumping two weeks
or days instead of just one.

Issue with Palm calendar event offsets in DST window

Northwestern upgraded over this past weekend from Meeting Maker 8.5.3 to Meeting Maker 8.7.0.

We are experiencing one-hour time offsets on some Palm device calendars for meetings that occur within the extended DST window (March 9 - 30).

Meeting Maker has not been able to reproduce this issue with Palm Conduits 8.7.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem and if so, does anyone have a suggested solution? Thanks for any information.

Server Upgrade to 8.7

Echo......

Just checking to see if anyone was still here. We upgraded from 8.5.0
to 8.7.0 server (with a required stop at 8.5.3 server for about 5
seconds, which was annoying), on Linux over the holidays. Smooth
upgrade, and no client issues so far. Haven't heard any complaints
about the 8.7 Palm conduits. The new Ajax-y web calendar is quite nice.

We did notice that the internal name for the release is a bit
interesting: the server is listed "version 8.7.0b27 (Devel)", and the
client auto-upgrade files are listed as "8.7.0 d(27) Pre-release."
Yeah.

While doing the upgrade, I noticed that MM snuck barely documented PAM
authentication support into some release somewhere, I think 8.5.2.
Anyone else using PAM authentication? Any issues you've found? We have
PAM configured to use our LDAP directory and it is working swimmingly.
We have noticed that if there is any even momentary connection loss
between the MM server and the LDAP server, the mmserver daemon needs to
be restarted for auth to work again. Fortunately not an occurrence
outside of testing.

All in all, not bad though.

Meeting Maker process keeps dieing

I have Meeting Maker running on a RHEL 4 computer.  For some reason meeting maker keeps dieing.  I didn't setup meeting maker on this machine so I'm not really sure how it's configured, but I'm assuming I should be looking at the log files.  It looks like its writing to Mmserver.log and server.log in /usr/local/meetingmaker/  I don't really see anything usefull in those.  Are there any other logs I should be looking at?  I can reply with the end of the log files if anyone wants to take a look at them.

Any ideas would be appreciated

MeetingMaker 7.5 requires Power User access?

Hello.

My workgroup uses MM 7.5 (and will migrate to some other vendor rather than upgrade to any offering from PeopleCube).

There is something that is a bit irksome.

It appears that users must have "Power User" or Administrator accounts to use the MM 7.5 client. Does anyone
know of a way to work around this allowing normal "limited" user accounts to run the client? For instance,
is there a particular registry key which can have its permissions changed to make this possible?

Thanks in advance.

Is anyone here any more?

Having seen no feedback on the new MM 8.6 Palm conduits, I'm curious as
to whether anyone is following this mailing list any more.

Or is it that few here upgraded to 8.6?
