cannot download flyspray-0.9.9-latest.zip

requesting http://snaps.flyspray.org/flyspray-0.9.9-latest.zip causes
open of CDBurnerXP's 404 page. Seems there are problems with serving
virtual server' sites. Is there any mirror?

Re: cannot download flyspray-0.9.9-latest.zip

You can try to get the source code via subversion :
http://flyspray.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/flyspray/branches/0.9.9.tar.gz?view=tar

Is this still in development?

Everything I can find about it seems a year or so old but I'd like to
use it for my company.
Just don't want to use something unsupported.

Thanks,

Jonathan

But it steel a really simple and nice application. The code is very easy to hack.

Re: Is this still in development?

It seems Flyspray lacks developers.

I use it for 4 years already for my personal tasks management and
find it very good bugtracking system. Now I am running 0.9.9.6.
Flyspray is simple for installation and administration but in same
time implements
what is needed for a bugtracking system: collaboration, notifications,
remainders,
comments, history -- all this is in.

It is mystery for me why such software cannot find developers.

Re: Re: Is this still in development?

Hi all,

I second Ivan's observations. We've been using Flyspray for
don't-know-how-many years for project task management and also in
education (I'm lecturing software engineering courses).

At the moment, there is one volunteer student of mine who is hacking on
Flyspray along my personal preferences at
http://wiki.kiv.zcu.cz/PremekBrada/FlysprayEnhancements. If it comes out
well, we'd like to contribute the modifications to the distribution, on
a best effort basis (ie. most probably can't guarantee further support).
I'd be interested in your opinion.

Re: Is this still in development?

Premek,

Update to the latest development release your todo list is nearly
covered by the latest code as far as i know. http://www.flyspray.org/development

As for continued development I've never had a problem because FlySpray
has and i'm sure always will be a simple solution to a problem people
always want to over complicate.

Version 0.9.9.6 does everything i need anything else is a extra and in
fact in some respect the latest development build when i come to
upgrade to it i'll probably find myself manually turning off or not
using some new features.

Re: Re: Is this still in development?

Hi,

contributions of any kind are certainly appreciated. Feel free to send
your patches, or if you intend to work on Flyspray for a certain
period of time, you can also get SVN access at some point.
The problem with Flyspray is that the 0.9.x version works reasonably
well and there are not really many tasks to do, and for the 1.0
version we need some kind of web/UI designer to clean up the
interface, which I'd say is the main task left.
But for the past few years, developers have only left and not joined
the team, so there shouldn't be expected too much. Flyspray doesn't
seem to have a user base which is large enough to supply it with
enough contributions so to speak.

Regards,
Flo

Re: Re: Is this still in development?

> It is mystery for me why such software cannot find developers.

The core developers said they plan to change a lot of stuff under the
hood. They told me, when I stated my intents to contribute, that I
might be better of waiting for these changes and not base my new work
on the old code which is to be abandoned.
I think this is what keeps contributions low in the recent time. But
this is AFAICT only good intent from the developers. They don't want
to waste developers' precious time, I guess.

Nevertheless flyspray is quite a good system, there is a community
around it (as you can tell from the answers here), so I think you
could choose worse than flyspray.

My 2 cents

Cheers,
DJ

Re: Is this still in development?

Hi,

I use Flyspray in 3-4-5 people environment and it works well.
What will happen when 20 peoples begin to work I don't know.
May be the project drop down list will become longer and less
comfortable to use. May be more theming would come ok for Flyspray...
I didn't try 1.0 to see the differences between 1.0 and 0.9.9.6.

May be a useful feature would be 'hide project'. This is not 'delete'
project, just not showing it in the lists and filtering its tasks.
This way
the old projects would not mess with the active ones.

I am not PHP/WEB programmer, I know C instead (firmware), so I could
not do
anything as a coder. Instead, I translated Flyspray into Bulgarian
language and may
continue to do this work. Also, I could do some testing, from time to
time.
