Debian bug tracking system subscription

       Hi,

For some reason, the Debian bug tracking system has been wired by
someone to this mailing list. This is usually done by the "PTS"
(Package Tracking System), but it might also be achieved by some simple
procmail rules of the Debian maintainer or of a PTS subscriber.

Currently, each time someone bravely reports a bug against zinf, he'll
get a bizarre moderation message from the zinf-devel list. This should
not happen, Debian bug reports should not be filtered but always read
and handled, and Debian bug submitters should not receive strange
messages when talking with the Debian bug tracking system.

Whoever did this subscription should cancel it, *or* whoever has
administrative right on the configuration of this mailing list should
make sure that anyone can post to the list without any confirmation
mail whatsoever if such reports are truly wanted on the list.

   Thanks in advance,

So, did anyone act upon my requests? (I did not receive any response
 on the isssue at hand.)

   Bye,

Re: Debian bug tracking system subscription

I am not sure who did this, but it may simply be the anti-spam
mechanisms at sourceforge. You might want to write to
the package maintainer at debian.

I will try to look into the moderation settings on sourceforge.

Bug#170401: zinf: The same problem with ogg Vorbis

Package: zinf
Version: 2.2.5-5.1
Followup-For: Bug #170401

The same problem, plays about twice faster than should.

New logical stream (#1, serial: 6947fe5b): type vorbis
Vorbis headers parsed for stream 1, information follows...
	Version: 0
	Vendor: Xiph.Org libVorbis I 20040629
	Channels: 1
	Rate: 44100

	Nominal bitrate: 96,000000 kb/s
	Upper bitrate not set
	Lower bitrate not set

	Vorbis stream 1:
        	Total data length: 1179572 bytes
	        Playback length: 2m:05.126s
	        Average bitrate: 75,416268 kbps

IMHO it is problem with ALSA output module and mono (one channel) sound.
With another module plays normally.

Bug#328286: Intend to NMU: rebuild against latest transitionned libs

Package: zinf
Severity: serious
Tags: patch

        Hi,

 zinf is currently uninstallable.

Because of the C++ transition, zinf needs to be rebuilt against the
 current libc6-dev, libartsc0-dev, libmusicbrainz4-dev,
libid3-3.8.3-dev. All of these are built on all arches, so you don't
need to version the build-depends, you simply need to rebuild.

Because of the Xorg transition, zinf needs to build-depend on x-dev
 (ui/zinf/unix/src/GTKUtility.cpp #includes X11/Xatom.h) instead of
xlibs-dev. Upstream should use AC_PATH_X or AC_PATH_XTRA to configure
 X libs and cflags.

I think you don't need to build-depend on liborbit2-dev at all, but you
do need to build-depend on liborbit-dev because you call automake
during your build process. This is bad style and pulls too many
build-dependencies. The same goes for libxosd-dev.

Because you do not --enable-experimental, you do not need to
build-depend on libgtkmm2.0-dev, and you should not have to
build-depend on libboost-dev but this looks like an upstream bug.

Unless you object, I will upload packages with the attached changes
 tomorrow.

logitech mediaplay mouse buttons

Hey, I have been using zinf for about 6 months now, and I really like
it. It is a great program, much better than the "standard" programs for
music play. What I was wondering was if in the future it will support
media play buttons. I have a Logitech Mediaplay mouse, and the
play/pause/FF/RW buttons do not work in ZINF. I hope this feature will
be supported in the near future!
