xmms plugin?

I've been reading about a CDDA Paranoia plugin for
xmms that would allow me to listen to (not rip) audio
cds without the special analog audio cable. I'd like
to do this because I have a 4.1 audio system and I
don't get any rear speaker sound when using analog
mode.

The only link I could find for this plugin says
something like Access Fobidden. I have a feeling that
you had nothing to do with this plugin, so I'm kinda
hoping you might have an alternative way for me to do
what I wanna do.

TIA for any help,
Ron

I assume you're referring to cdparanoia-plugin from
http://www02.u-page.so-net.ne.jp/ca2/kzmi/xmms/.

I could only find it in (gag) RPM form at:

  ftp://sunet.se/pub/Linux/distributions/mandrake-devel/contrib/SRPMS/cdparanoia-plugin-0.1-2mdk.src.rpm

somebody has documentation about ...

In the actuality I work in Apolos project and we want to make Apolos
support cdparanoia, but we couldn't find documentation about the API of
paranoia III and paranoia IV, if in this list somebody has documentation about the
API of paranoia III and paranoia IV, please let me know.

Thank.

I don't know about this plugin. Anyway, if you want to have Digital Audio
Play you may take a loot at Libmtrwe, following the link in the signature.
In the examples/dae directory you will find a _very RAW Digital Audio
Extractor. It uses cdparanoia library and libao for audio output, so it can
be customized to output to a live device. But beware, it is NOT meant to be
a full/usable player.

Benq CDRW problem

Hi,

Im having problems ripping CDs with my new Benq CDRW 40x12x48.
Ive setup ide-scsi and can mount cds using /dev/sr0 no problems. I can
play audio CDs fine. So I assume me setup is OK.

When I run cdparanoia -vs -B -- "-3"
this is the output:

These seem to come from transport code. Download the latest cdrtools package
and use the cdda2wav tool. It has an option to use paranoia library for
extraction.

Re: Benq CDRW problem

Hi Giuseppe,
thanks for the reply, cdda2wav just seems to lock up my PC. Do you have
anyother suggestions, do you think I should send a request to the kernel
mailing list? Or prehaps to Benq?

Regards
	Laurence

If you are using last version of cdrtools the problem is likely the kernel.
Try an upgrade and search for some hints in the logs.

cdparanoia plugin for xmms

A few days ago someone was asking about this. Since the link at xmms.org
(http://www02.u-page.so-net.ne.jp/ca2/kzmi/xmms/) appears to be hopelessly
broken, and it's darned difficult to find anywhere else, I've made a copy
available at:
