last fm

I was testing Last FM (the online AS app) and noticed a bug (that you
must already know).
When you search for radiohead, he askes if you mean:
Radiohead
Radiohead and Samshing Pumpkins
Radiohead + Smashing Pumpkins
Radiohead
Radiohead
Radiohead, the bends
Radiohead
Radiohead
Radiohead
Radiohead
Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins
Radoihead

I understand the computer not diferentiating "radiohead and SP" and
radiohead. But why does the "Radiohead" alone repeats himself all the
time?

The main problem seem sto be all those worng tags on the world. But
then who does uses MusicBrainz to corrects them?

Wouldn't be a way to, along with the audioscrobblers plugins to put a
invisible Musicbrainz corrector? Something that (if the user allowed
of course) would automatically correct any tag that music brainz had a
90%> rate, and maybe even submit to MB database the other unknown
tags. This would benefit both Music brainz and Audioscrobbler
community a lot, so we could gather a bit of work from both.

I like the idea.
The tagger isn't perfect however. It will be nifty when the 'picard'
tagger comes out...

I personally would love for plugins to simple give you a list of
untagged files with musicbrainz and a handy button to launch the
tagger on them. Something really obvious and annoying.
Also, some way to suppress the annoying nagging reminder for files
that aren't in musicbrainz.

This is caused by the AS moderation process, as there will have been a lot
of Radiohead variations which are moderated to "Radiohead". As the artist
merging has not yet been completed, the last.fm search pulls up multiple
entries all pointing to "Radiohead" which in the past were probably
something like "01 Radiohead", etc.

In short, this will be fixed once artist merging gets done.

Suggestion for protocol v1.2

Russ, RJ, and all,

I've just tested SlimScrobbler with the new Java submission process; it 
failed in a new-and-interesting (to me) way and so I'd like to suggest a 
feature for the planned v1.2 to make this kind of thing easier in the 
future.

What's happened here is that the new submitter appears to be on a new 
URI (http://post.audioscrobbler.com:80/protocol_1.1) and the plugin 
didn't know to perform a new handshake to pick up the new one. 
SlimScrobbler will not re-handshake on a FAILED response as it's 
normally just some transient condition.

Music Plug-In

I use Music Match Jukebox for all of my file playing because it's much
more user friendly and seems the least flawed.  It'd be much

Audioscrobbler...

Hi,

 I need to develop an application like "Audioscrobbler" in java to
implemente Correlation Algorithm (Artist similarity ), I download java files
from sourceforge cvs (cvs:
audioscrobbler/CFAlgorithmProposal/com/audioscrobbler) but i can't
understand how does it work (no schema database, no doc...),

Any help would be appreciated.

track previsions

For the software I am currently developing, I need besides the
recomendations that audioscrobbler makes (sugestions of tracks that
you should hear), i need some previsions (given a track name, get the
probability of the user liking it, or the probable rating a given user
will give to it).

I rememeber that in Ringo (jolomo.net/ringo/chi-95-paper.pdf) they had
this, which seems not hard to do it.

Has anyone done it already? does AS already offers that?

iScrobbler Bug Report

Hi, O'm afraid none of my songs have been submitting for over a week now . I 
have downloaded the latest version of Audioscrobbler 0.6.3, as well as the 
updated Mac plug-in, and restarted my computer & i-scrobbler several times, 
to no avail.

My Resylts Details are as follows: Server Error - A connection was 
established to the server, but the server failed to collect the data. This 
is probably a temporary problem. If it persists more than a few hours, 
please submit a bug report.
