RE: creating log4net CVS repository and web-pages

Ceki,

One more site question.

If we use anakia to build our html from our xdocs how do we actually go
about updating the web site?

In the "Web-site maintenance" doc is says:

"However, the jakarta-regexp project uses CVS to copy files to the server"

Does this mean that there is an automated process for updating the web site
files from CVS? (some king of cvs export run from a cron job??) or do we
need to manually move the html files into the /www/logging.apache.org/xxx
directories?

Thanks,

Nicko

Howdy,
You run the ant target that builds the site, then you commit the site (cvs commit). Then you go to
/www/logging.apache.org and run cvs update.

RE: creating log4net CVS repository and web-pages

Ok, so for /www/logging.apache.org/log4net I just have to do the relevant co
from the logging-log4net module.

Re: Incubation of log4plsql

Guillaume,

As I tried to explain to you in our last private email exchange, I think it
is best if we waited for a few months before having this vote. Before
joining the ASF, we need to make sure that log4plsql functions as an open
project and has at least a CVS repository. The CVS repository was created
barely a few days ago. We still need more time to let log4jplsql evolve as
an open source project before making a decision.

If other logging PMC members feel that the above arbitrary, then I will
gladly abide by the will of the majority.

Thank you for your understanding,

Right. Using CVS is one way to do it.

In the case of log4j, we simply use "scp" but that is not necessarily the
best way to go about it.

The best solution I can think of thus far, is to use CVS for the Anakia
generated html files and use scp for javadocs.

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Category

Hello,
I am using latest log4j software from Apache. But when
I run my Java class containing log4j statements, I get
the following error -
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
org/apache/log4j/Category

The file log4j-1.2.8.jar is in the classpath.

Can somebody please tell, how the above error must be
removed?

Regards,
Mukul

log4net web pages

Hi all,

I have published the log4net web pages at: http://logging.apache.org/log4net

Do any of the PMC members want to take a look and see if I have said
anything that could be inappropriate.

Cheers,

Nicko

Log4net mailing lists not archiving correctly

Does anyone here know how the mailing lists are setup?

The log4net-user <at> logging.apache.org and log4net-dev <at> logging.apache.org
mailing lists are working correctly. i.e. subscribed users are receiving
messages sent to the list. However the archival of the lists does not seem
to be working correctly.

The archived mailing list should be available here:
http://logging.apache.org/mail/log4net-user/
http://logging.apache.org/mail/log4net-dev/

There is one test message in the log4net-user folder but none for the
log4net-dev list. In fact several messages should have been archived for
both lists.

The eyebrowse site shows the same results:
http://nagoya.apache.org/eyebrowse/SummarizeList?listId=215
http://nagoya.apache.org/eyebrowse/SummarizeList?listId=214

Does anyone here know what needs to be done to get the archiving working
correctly? In not who should I be asking?

Thanks,

Nicko
