Hi all,

We're pleased to announce that Google Summer of Code will be happening
for its eighth year this year. Please check out the blog post [1]
about the program and read the FAQs [2] and Timeline [3] on Melange
for more information.

Please consider translating the presentations and/or flyers into your
native language and submitting them directly to me to post on the
wiki. Localization for our material is integral to reaching the widest
possible audience around the world.

I'd be delighted to admin again this year. Volunteers for backups warmly
welcomed, or start thinking about your task proposals :-)

Re: Fwd:[Announce] Google Summer of Code 2012

Excellent, thanks Noirin. I don't think I'll even have the time to be a
backup this year. especially with changes afoot in incubator land. With at
least one experienced admin on board you probably don't need me.

Thanks again

Excellent, two experienced mentors. We are good to go. More volunteers
welcome, especially new admins.

Hi Norin & Ross,

I am not sure whats involved in volunteering as a backup admin, but I have time and interest to help out with
this task. But beware, I only have passive information about GSOC and will need guidance. Either way, I am
looking to engage Airavata incubator project and I am hopeful we will have quite a few mentors and projects
some of them who have mentored before or were students when in college.

Suresh,

New blood is good. I'll let Noirin and Uli decide how to run things and
involve you. You all know I'm here to help out if needed.
